The T9C Ranch The T9C Ranch in Eldorado, Texas, is a throwback to the "good ole days." Everything about the facility tries to re-create fun as it was "in those days." From hayrides to sitting around the huge campfire pit, the T9C caters to those desiring an old fashioned "company or church picnic." Don't expect electronic games when you come to the T9C. But if you want to pitch horseshoes or washers, play flag football, shoot bows and arrows, play softball, volleyball, or even badminton, the T9C is the place for you. If you want more old style fun, book in the forgotten carnival games that are available, such as the balloon darts, duck pond, dunk tank, football toss, ring toss, softball toss, etc. How about adult trike races, jump ropes, obstacle course, sack races, three-legged races, wheelbarrow races and such? The pasture safari on the hay wagon takes visitors through the "wilderness" part of the ranch to view whatever wildlife might be out at the moment. In the past, such animals as armadillos, deer, horned toads, jackrabbits, quail, squirrels, turkey, etc., have all been seen on the premises. But the real beauty are the surprises that await visitors. Want to really relive the past? Don an old fashioned costume for an old timey picture to take home. Really passive and ready to unwind? Sit down for a relaxing table game in the game room. Not in the mood to play games? Then just look up in the ceiling of the main barn to see relics from the past such as a branding iron, cast iron cooking equipment, cheese grate, coffee grinder, dicer, glass orange squeezer, hand drill bit, ice tray, kerosene lantern, milk strainer, oil can, pepper grinder, pulp squeezer, sausage grinder, shepherd's crook, shoe tree, soldering iron, washboards, wood plane, wooden crutches and similar items. How about booking in "Dr. Rungini's Traveling Medicine Show," reminiscent of those seen in this part of the country over 100 years ago? Or select a spot in the wilderness section to pitch your tent and really escape. Or browse through the ranch library whose sections include an eclectic collection of selections for your recollection. Whatever your nostalgic pleasure, we would be glad to reserve your 2009 date. Want to read more about it? Here's the T9C Ranch's initial press release with some history. Jim Runge |
